Recent events at Cardiff City have cast further doubt on the sense of any business deal between the City's football and rugby clubs. Our former Club Captain, Mike Hall, has resigned from the Board of CCFC after taking legal advice with regards to the upcoming court case with the mysterious Langston. Hall is a business partner with Paul Guy of PMG Associates and Guy has supposedly loaned CCFC £11m.
As Langston are claiming that CCFC owe them £24m and Hall is associated with the secured loan of £11m, Hall has side stepped the issue.
It is believed that any ground naming / stand naming sponsorship for the new stadium will be owed to Sam Hamman under the details of his recent departure from CCFC and speculation is rife that Hamman is somehow involved with Langston. Hamman is well known to be totally against Cardiff Blues having any use of the new Cardiff City stadium.
So the questions and doubts over the agreement are increasing week on week. How will this impending court case affect the Heads of Terms agreement, especially if CCFC lose the case. One outcome of that loss could be that Hamman is restored as Cardiff City Chairman, but this may not yet happen for another 2 years - the likely length of the court case.
The issue is more clouded than ever before and we urge Cardiff RFC ltd to withdraw from negotiations until at least the subject is more clear.
