As far as future voting and the use of postal and or proxy voting is concerned, this is one of the topics that have been raised in the informal "chats" of the last week. And whilst there is a way to go at least the outgoing and the new chairmen of CAC have agreed to try and move forward.
It is hoped that a working body of people will examining the issues raised and try to get all parties in broad agreement before offering these to the full membership.
At least they are talking and listening, I am encouraged. A few others are still very suspicious and whilst understandable if we're to get anywhere then we have to go for it (if only this was done 10 years ago!!!).
One of the things that we (C2As) should consider, is for as many people as possible read the rules of CAC and make sensible (and modernising?) suggestions - the voting system being a prime one.
With the various rules, their meanings and implications need to be better understood so that the club can give a clear message to members and also meet the demands of today's world! Could we use our own constitution as a reference?
We should get our proposals as lean and sharp as is possible before offering them up the next time, so that we can explain them in the correct manner.
Any of these early meetings will be informal and will hopefully involve at least one person from the limited company because we believe without their input we will be in the same position as before.
