The joining annual fee of just £12 will be used to fund the objectives of the Trust. The first pound of membership gives the subscriber the £1 share in the Industrial and Provident Society and this will mean that the subscriber will have one vote at the AGM or any other EGM held by the Trust.
This also means that the subscriber is limited to just £1 of liability should there be any problem with the Trust.
This one vote will allow the subscriber to have a say in the direction of the trust and how the trust acts upon its shareholding in the rugby club. Therefore, for an individual who is not a shareholder in the club then this is the best way to get his / her voice heard and to act in conjunction with his/her fellow supporters to have a collective voice.
For an existing shareholder the benefits of joining the Trust are clear. An existing shareholder is able to give his / her shareholding to the trust or is able to just proxy the vote. Therefore, the ability to act as a collective with like minded supporters gives the individual vote a lot more power.
The other benefits of joining the trust can be seen by the community work that some of the funds will be spent on. There are many examples of how the money will be spent, from sponsoring equipment for school children through to equipment sponsoring for women's rugby, so this community work will be alongside the move towards greater supporters representation for the rugby club.
